Halnn CBN insert widely used in Processing Wind Power Bearings
Wind Power Bearings, as one of the main products in wind power bearings industry, the usage environment are very bad, and the repaired costs will be high, so in the machining process, it will be required high, and it also need high lifetime costs.
In order to obtain high usage lifetime, we usually use heat treatment process, such as quenching, carburization. The hardness usually is above HR55.And because of large diameters, the manufacturers usually use grinding process to make sure the precision and the size requirements.
Even though Grinding Process can make sure the high precision, but because of the large size, big deformation, so the working process will be low and affect the grinding working efficiency. With the development of the cutting tools industry,Halnn researched new cbn insert materials to hard turning steel materials (wind power bearing) .
Compared CBN inserts with Carbide insert and carbide insert ,it has higher wear resistance and Collapse resistance. CBN insert is the best materials for hard turning hardened steel .Especially Halnn CBN insert brand, has researched new cbn insert materials special for hard turning wind power bearings.
The working allowance of the wind power bearings after heat treatment usually is 2mm~6mm, Halnn recommend BN-S20 CBN insert,which can be used for rough machining, the linear speed will be 90~150m/min.Finish turning the channel surface can reach Ra0.3μm.
For example,Halnn BN-S20 CBN insert turning wind power bearing instead of grinding with 1.5MW bearing rings, the outer diameters will be φ1900mm,thickness is130mm. We use grinding process finish grinding the wind power, it need more than 18h. But with Bn-S20 CBN insert ,it only need 4.5h with same roughness, the working efficiency improved nearly 4 times. But the costs only has only more than 2 times.
