Li Dongjie, the general manager of Henan Yalong Superhard Materials Co., Ltd, had studied in Uk for six years before he entered abrasives industry. After he went back, he found the promising of superhard material and products industry, and determined to work in his father's company as an ordinary clerk for five years. In 2010, when he has a good command of superhard industry and the operation of company, he completely took over the company as an inheritor and has strived for the strong rise of Yalong Group.
Talents are the most valuable resource
Fifty years has been passed since the first synthetic diamond successfully produced. From the development of Henan Yalong Superhard Material Co., Ltd, it can be seen the development of China superhard materials and products industry. Both Li Dongjie and his father Li Guoshan are impressive on the shortage of talents. In the 1980s, Yalong was at the initial stage of development, and all their staff were hired from Zhengzhou Research Institute for Abrasive & Grinding Co. Ltd and institutions of higher learning. With the development of Yalong, the number of the former staff is not enough, and Yalong began to employ college graduates majored in relevant field. To foster talents, Yalong has launched two activities. One is to hold growth conference which allows employees to express their opinions on company development and products to let them participate in the management; the other one is to negotiate with senior staff on the enterprise structure, development vision and industry market environment.
For the purpose of retaining hard-won talents, Li Dongjie has taken a series of measures. He had adjusted the original work time and cancelled night shift system. In the meantime, he put emphasis on the upgrading and introduction of production equipment. Additionally, he has adjusted salaries every six months and attached importance to the establishment of company culture.
Li Dongjie has such a view, for enterprises, the capital is generic resources, project land is precious resource, but talents are the most valuable resource, and he is not willing to let anyone leave their teams.
Equipment is absolute principle
In China superhard material and products industry, Yalong has left an expensive impression on others. In Li Dongjie's opinion, as a private company, Yalong has its special principles to build to last for more than twenty years. Yalong has strong competence in quality, management, service, innovation and resource integration. What they have invested in quality, management, service and innovation determined their products price and their high-end route.
"Our price is based on cost, and we will not easily make concession on price. However, we can guarantee our materials have advantages over industry standard on many aspects, such as static strength, wear resistance and thermal stability", Li Dongjie said with great confidence.
In 1990s Yalong begins to introduce foreign manufacturing equipment. At that time, equipment suppliers did not even begin to open sales network in China. Yalong bought that device made in America through clients, and then transferred it from Hongkong to Zhengzhou. It is that landmark event that makes Yalong far ahead than other counterparts.
In 2012, during the investigation, strict Japan customers pointed that the test of diamond powder quality not only refers to its particle size distribution, but also its morphology and impurity content, etc. In order to meet customers' requirements, Yalong decisively spend several million on buying a scanning electric microscope to study the structure of micro diamond powder, give accurate judgments on particle size and shoot three-dimensional surface pictures of samples. At the same time, they have ability to sort out the products which cannot meet the requirements of particle size.
