The imports of coated abrasives have been less than the exports for for three years continuously. The export unit price grows to a certain extent, but the unit price of import products is still 2.6 times of the export unit price, and trade surplus is $102 million, with an increase of 37.9%.

A, The exports of coated abrasives

The export volume of coated abrasives is 73100 tons, with year-on-year decline of 2.95%, and the export unit price is increased by 8.69% on year-on-year basis.

Export products are given priority to emery cloth, accounting for 43.6% of total exports of coated abrasives, with unit price $3.88 / kg.

The exports of sanding paper account for 41% of the total exports, with unit price $4.37 / kg.

The exports of other substrate coated abrasives account for 14.3% of the total exports, with unit price $14.34 / kg.

From the export countries of coated abrasives:

The top three countries that emery cloth is exported to: Vietnam, the United States and South Korea, accounting for 34.2% of the total quantity of emery cloth.

The top three countries that sanding paper is exported to: Vietnam, India and the United States, accounting for 26.5% of the total quantity of sanding paper.

The other substrate coated abrasives are mainly exported to Vietnam, Hong Kong and the United States, accounting for 68.3% of their total quantity.

We can find that our export amount of coated abrasives decreases but the exports keep growing, which shows that domestic product quality is steadily improved, and has a certain competitive advantage and demand in the international market. Vietnam is China's largest exporter of coated abrasives, and the annual exports are $049.9 million, accounting for 14.8% of total exports.
