Global Rubber Demand is to Reach 16.1 Million Tons in 2014

International Rubber Study Group (IRSG) reveals that global demand for natural rubber has increased 4.5% to 11.9 million tons in 2014. The demand for natural rubber is expected to hit 12.4 million tons in 2015.

International Rubber Study Group (IRSG) reveals that global demand for natural rubber has increased 4.5% to 11.9 million tons in 2014. The demand for natural rubber is expected to hit 12.4 million tons in 2015. 

The organization predicts that there will be abundant supply to meet demand. In 2014, global demand for synthetic rubber is to reach 1610 million tons; while the number will increase to 16.8 million tons in 2015. According to IRGS, the total demand for rubber has increased by 4.1% to 28 million tons; while the figure is likely to amount to 29.2 million tons in 2015, 4.4% increase.

In the first quarter of 2014, demand for synthetic rubber increased 4.6% and production volume increased 4.1%. The market supply exceeds demand. Demand for natural rubber in the first quarter of 2014 increased 4.0% and production volume increased 1.2%. The market demand exceeds supply.
