Furniture Making and the Abrasives Industry

As the downstream industry of abrasives and abrasives products, China's furniture industry is developing at a fast speed. No matter it is plate fitment or solid wood furniture, the furniture's surface quality depends mostly on polishing. After polishing, furniture's surface needs to be polished by hand with sand paper.

Cemented carbide saw blade is an important polishing tool for plate fitment. Saw blades are used to cut wood into appropriate sizes in preparation for successive polishing process. While during the complete manufacturing process, a set of sanding machine will be used to improve the surface quality of wood furniture via abrasive cloth and sand paper. It takes a lot more abrasives and abrasives products and more time in solid wood furniture polishing. the purpose of solid wood furniture polishing is to make the surface smooth. During the process, twelve pieces of sand paper are used to play different roles. For example, sand paper whose grit sizes are between 120 to 600 is used to grind the external form of furniture; 600 to 1500 grit sizes are for fine grinding; 1500 to 2500 grit sizes are for water polishing. 

In recent years, despite the sluggish market situation, the furniture industry shows a good momentum of growth. In 2013, China's furniture industry output value reached 650000000000 Yuan, which increased 11.4% annual growth. It is predicted that in the next five to ten years, with the rapid development of China's domestic economy, stable improvement in Chinese people's lives, and promising international market demand for the furniture, China's furniture industry is likely to embrace its second rapid development period. Meanwhile, abrasives and abrasives products will benefit a lot.
