China's Sic Industry Analysis 2014-2017

According to Reportlinker report, as a major manufacturer and exporter of silicon carbide, China has accounted for 80% of global Sic market share. In 2013 Sic export quota system was cancelled, China's Sic export volume was 286,800 tons, which increased 73.8% compared with the same period last year. From January to November 2014, China's Sic export volume rose to 289,800 tons.

In 2014, China has more than 200 Sic smelting companies whose annual capacity is over 2,200,000 tons, including 1,200,000 tons of green silicon carbide and about 1,000,000 tons of black silicon carbide. However, increase in output and downturn in photovoltaic industry in the past two years, the capacity utilization rate of Sic is rather low. With the recovery of the entire photovoltaic industry, industries such as refractory materials, ceramics, LED are recovering at a stable pace. the capacity utilization rate of Sic is predicted to be improved.
