Abrasives China – Shandong

Located to the east of Tai-hang Mountain, Shandong Province is home to the Confucian culture. Being one of China's major economic provinces and the second largest province in population, Shandong's GDP ranks the third place, accounting for one-ninth of China's total GDP volume. 

When referring to the abrasives industry in Shandong Province, the first thing that comes up to people's mind will be China's Fourth Grinding Wheel Factory. In 1955, the first furnace of white fused alumina was welded. In 1956, the abrasives was exported to Vietnam, U.K., and Italy. In 1961, monocrystalline fused alumina and monocrystalline fused alumina grinding wheel were born. In 1965, pink fused alumina grinding wheel was developed. Meanwhile, Dadian Town was also popular among the abrasives industry in Shandong Province. In 1970s, the abrasives industrial cluster in Dadian Town drove the development of the industry and generated great influence in China.

Currently, there are 268 abrasives manufacturers and companies, 19 of which possess independent export rights and 16 of which have passed ISO9000. Number of employees involved in the abrasives industry in Dadian County is 13,000. Annual output volume of abrasives is more than 130,000 tons. The major products cover silicon carbide, aluminum oxide, ceramic, rubber, resin, etc. Abrasives products are exported to everywhere in China, and Europe, southeast Asia, the Middle-East, Africa, and more than 20 countries and regions, taking up over 45% of China's market share. The abrasives industry has become an important approach to increase local tax revenue, transfer rural labor force, as well as increase crop for peasants. In short, the abrasives industry has been playing a positive role in the development of non-state owned economy.

Coated abrasives: Jinan, Qingdao, Linyi, Weihai, Yantai, Dezhou, Rizhao, Weifang, Zibo, Binzhou, etc.
Bonded abrasives: Jinan, Qingdao, Linyi, Zibo, Liaocheng, Dezhou, Yantai, Dongying, Weifang, Rizhao, Weihai, etc.
Silicon carbide: Qingzhou, Tengzhou, Zaozhuang, Qingdao, Linyi, Zibo, etc.
