According to iAbrasive latest news, this year Jiangsu Subei Grinding Wheel Factory Co., Ltd. will move to new plant, whose production equipment automation and management will experience huge breakthrough. Recently iAbrasive reporters paid a visit to the new factory in Taizhou Abrasives New Material Science Park. Yan Guanghua, the chairman of Subei received the interview.

Fifty-year Experience

Jiangsu Subei Grinding Wheel Factory Co., Ltd. has fifty years of history full of hardship and setbacks, but the company was able to make structural adjustment and technology innovation in pivotal moment. In 1964 when Subei was officially founded, it was the first state-owned enterprise whose major product was bonded abrasives. After twenty years' pioneering work, Subei gained the highest honor in China abrasives industry—"National Product Quality Silver Medal".

From the end of 1990s to 2002, due to extensive production pattern, inverted-flame kiln's impact on quality and environment as well as the national economy situation, Subei went into trouble. Faced with difficulties, Subei made reforms in system and innovate equipment and technology, authorized National Six Design Institute to design gas kiln car that fueled natural gas, thus caused no environment, and reduce labor intensity. Its business spread all over the world and more than twenty countries and regions. The annual sales revenue was over a hundred million Yuan.

Unification of Energetic Enterprises

In 2013, Subei Grinding Wheel Factory Co., Ltd., Bondflex Abrasives (Taizhou) Co., Ltd. and Taizhou Sumeng Grinding Wheel Co., Ltd. conducted strategic optimizing restructuring. In ordinary grinding wheel field, Taizhou Sumeng Grinding Wheel Co., Ltd. was in charge of producing resin cutting and grinding disc; Bondflex Abrasives (Taizhou) Co., Ltd. mainly produced resin heavy-duty grinding wheel applied in steel and iron industry. The three enterprises' recombination had achieved resource allocation, mutual advantages, and had formed the Subei Grinding Wheel Group manufacturing all types of ordinary ceramic, resin and rubber grinding wheel.

As to Subei's relocation in 2014, Yan introduced logically and had confident in mind about the future plan. He said, "this year Subei Grinding Wheel Factory Co., Ltd. has three instructive goals when relocating. The first is to improve product quality to compete with international brands; the second is to be equipped with state-of-the-art automation equipment, optimize process to improve management standard to a higher level; last but not least, improve stuff working conditions thoroughly."

In aspects of product structural adjustment,  Subei Grinding Wheel Factory Co., Ltd. has adopted automation equipment in its new ceramic grinding wheel assembly line. Subei Grinding Wheel Factory has managed to guarantee product stability by optimizing product structure, avoiding low price. The company has increased high-end grinding wheel production to improve high-end grinding wheel market share.

Sumeng has multiple advantages in OSA, such as it has conducted 6S management and European standard. Years of cooperation with German famous international corporations has enabled Sumeng people-oriented management and good working environment. Although Sumeng is only a part of the headquarter, the influence is far and wide. Advanced management idea of Sumeng will be applied in Subei Grinding Wheel Factory Co., Ltd.. in the near future, Subei will go global with production, technology, management and R & D.
