11 Items Should Be Noticed:

1. Before using new dresser, diamond dress should drop out from the former dressing feed. Lots of crisp diamond dressers tend to be damaged when touch with grinding wheels.

2. When installing the diamond dresser, it is necessary to tilt 10°-15° to make it toward the direction of grinding wheels rotation.

3. It is essential to assemble diamond dressers firmly or clamp dressing tool to avoid the head of tools overhanging too long.

4. If permitted, try to use cooling liquid. In the process of trimming, you'd better pour cooling liquid on contact parts between diamond dressers and grinding wheels.

5. The trimming begins at the highest part of grinding wheels, which usually refers to the central of grinding wheels.

6. It is necessary to do a slight amount of repair. As for the maximum depth of repair, it is   0.001-0.002 inches in crude repair, while in fine repair, the amount is 0.0005-0.001 inches.

7. Choose the proper crosswise movement speed according to manual. The smaller the crosswise movement (in allowable arrange), the lower the roughness of grinding wheel surface.

8. Grinding wheel must be trimmed in specified time interval to prevent blunt and increase of grinding force.

9. Within a specified time interval, make dressing tools rotate 1/8 circle to guarantee the sharp of dressers consistently.

10. Diamond dressers should be adjusted or changed when they become blunt or obviously become flat.

11. The amount of pure diamond and the diameter of grinding wheels should be considered when choosing diamond dressers. The bigger the diameter of grinding wheels, the higher the purity of diamond.

9 Warnings:

1. When placing head of diamond dressers to the holder, you'd better be careful to avoid hitting the surface of grinding wheels.

2. The single point diamond dresser should not be vertically aligned with the center of grinding wheels, and it generally tends to tilt 10°-15°.

3. The heating diamond dressers should not be quenched (which refers to the sudden cold). In the dry dressing, there must be interval between every two trimming to guarantee the cooling of diamond dressers.

4. Don't suppose that the surface of grinding wheels is desired smoothness. At the beginning of dressing, it needs to find the highest point of grinding wheels to trim.

5. If possible, the amount of repair at each time is not more than 0.001 inches on grinding wheel radius. An excessive amount of repair can cause the wear of diamond dresser head and frequently broken.

6. However, the amount of repair should not be too small each time. For old grinding wheels or grinding wheels used in machine with bad rigidity, trimming is not essential.

7. Note that the diamond dressers cannot stay in one place for long time during trimming to avoid the polishing of the surface of grinding wheels, which will bring high temperature and damage the diamond dressers. Keeping rotation at least once a day is suggested.

8. Worn or damaged trimming tools should not be used again and should be adjusted or replaced in time.

9. It should be forbidden that choosing excessive amount of repair and too fast crosswise feed speed during rough trimming , then in the process of fine trimming, you continue to choose small amount of repair and slow crosswise feed speed. Because that will rapidly damage diamond dressers. If possible, using the same crosswise feed speed in both rough and fine trimming.
