Trend Analysis of Abrasives Industry Automation

Rising labor costs constantly perplex manufacturing and abrasives industry. And in abrasives industry, the production environment is not that great, and the working content is relatively boring. It is difficult to attract young labor force. Therefore, people in the industry have been discussing the topic about machine substitution, but also because of the limitations of the current industry, it can not realize fully automated production in a short time.

Automation seems to be a very attractive solution. China has imported a large amount of industrial robots. On the proportion of robots and workers, China still lags far behind rivals. In South Korea, for example, there are 478 robots per 1 ten thousand workers; In Japan, the number is 315; In Germany, it is 292; In the United States, it is 164. In China, the number is only 36.

From the point of present situation of abrasives industry, although China's labor force is not cheap now, but it doesn't mean it will be completely replaced by robots. There are still a lot of manual work. 

High-end automatic equipment needs absolute constant temperature and humidity environment. Because the equipment only match with forming materials, it will exert the advantage of equipment to the best. And under the actual production situation in China, it is hard to do that. The most prominent problem is unstable forming material, which needs human to remedy at any time. Man-machine combination mode of production is better. Workers can find the current production situation at any time, with the naked eye, and can timely deal with the problems.

In addition, some high-end abrasive production equipment are too complex, and the efficiency is not high. Instead, man-machine combination equipment is more appropriate for the current bonded abrasive products.

For the economy, the rise of intelligent machine should be good news. It can bring enormous material prosperity, better health, and the benefits that have not been predicted now. However, China's industry has not gone through automation. There are many industries that even can not make semi-automation. So, it will take a longer way from informationalization to intellectualization.
