Since it is inevitable that grinding wheels will shrink and deform during sintering process, grinding wheels should be dressed, which is difficult. Currently, grinding wheels dressing method is both time consuming and calls for great effort. What’s more, during the process, many diamond particles may fall off.

In recent years, scholars worldwide have developed various methods to diamond grinding wheel dressing techniques, such as electrolytic dressing method, electric spark dressing method, and compound dressing method. However, none of the methods prove a good solution for sintering diamond grinding wheels dressing. Besides that, the manufacture process of grinding wheels decides their surface condition. As a result, only a handful of cutting edge can cut the workpiece surface, which limit further improvement in grinding quality and grinding effect.
