Silicon Carbide Major Application Fields

1. Silicon carbide hardness is about Moh's hardness 9. After grinding it can be used as abrasive powder, polishing paper; it can be made into grinding wheel and whetstone frication surface.
2. Silicon carbide is most widely used as abrasive grain, composite refractories, manufacturing of high-purity single crystalline and semiconductor. It is also used in soap synergist and bar soap fat separation and blooming prevention. Silicon carbide has a strong emulsification for lubricating oil and fat, it can adjust soap liquid PH value. It can also be applied in industrial water softener, leather retanning agent, dyeing auxiliary, paint, kaolin, magnesium oxide, calcium carbonate, etc.
3. Silicon carbide is employed in resin, metal compound materials reinforce fiber, electric wave absorbing materials and thermal resistant materials.
4. Silicon carbide material has pretty good high-temperature performance and high intensity. In national defense and aviation field, silicon carbide is used in engine inflamer, high-performance radar material, infrared fair, helicopter, jet parts, high-temperature power auxiliary components, etc. In electronic industry, silicon carbide is used in high-performance multi-layer integrated block package, multi-layer condenser; in auto industry, it is used as catalyst converter, driving system parts, valve and valve seat; in chemistry engineering, silicon carbide can form compound material with resin, which can improve plastic intensity, thermal conductivity and abrasion resistance. What's more, silicon carbide is widely used in ceramic, environmental protection and energy fields.
5. Silicon carbide material is used as high-density sintered raw material, high-temperature resistant structure material, anti-corrosion raw material. Acceptable density is 10mg per cubic meter.
