Requirements of Super Abrasives Grinding Wheel Grinding for Grinding Machine

Super abrasives grinding wheel grinding, especially high speed grinding, both require good stability, small vibration, high linear velocity, etc. For example, PLANOMAT series surface and contour grinding machine grinding wheel displayed on the CIMT2001, have a running speed of 170 m/s. Therefore, it has some requirements for grinding machine:

A, The rotation accuracy of grinding wheel spindle needs to be higher.

B, The rigidity of grinding machine needs to be great, and it is better to be higher than ordinary grinding machine about 50%. Usually, it should not be less than 100 N/μm.

C, The feeding system of grinding machine needs higher precision, and the feed rate should be uniform. The minimum speed of longitudinal feed should be up to 0.3 m/min, while the transverse feed (cutting depth) should be 0.001 ~ 0.002 mm/single trip, to ensure the dimensional accuracy of grinding, geometrical shape precision and surface roughness.

D, The moving parts of grinding machine, such as spindle head frame and bearing parts and feed movement guide rail should have reliable seal, in case super abrasives accelerate the wear of parts.

E, It needs more perfect grinding fluid supply and filtering system, whose filtration precision should be less than 0.5 microns.

F, All parts of grinding machine should have corresponding vibration control and vibration isolation measures, and grinding wheel should make fine dynamic balance.
