In August, 2014, the polycrystalline price in China is stable, the transaction price keeps it around 158 Yuan per kilogram. With polycrystalline processing trade suspended and photovoltaic power station installed capacity increasing, it is predicted that the polycrystalline price will pick up in the fourth quarter.

According to iAbrasive statistics, China-made polycrystalline price rose from 145 Yuan per kilo at the beginning of 2014 to 165 Yuan per kilo in February. Within the following two months, the polycrystalline price remained around 160 Yuan per kilo. In May and June, the polycrystalline price was stable at 160 Yuan per kilo. Due to a component inventory increase that has influenced upstream industry, in July its price declined to 158 Yuan per kilo. The lowest transaction price reached 155 Yuan per kilo. At the beginning of August, polycrystalline price was stable at around 158 Yuan per kilo.

Meanwhile, in the first half of 2014, China polycrystalline output was approximately 50,000 tons, higher than import volume during the same period. Seen from a domestic working condition, the output is stable in a short period. China Ministry of Commerce and the General Administration of Customs have decided to suspend solar polycrystalline processing import trade application acceptance. Therefore, it is predicted that in the second half of 2014, China-made polycrystalline monthly output will go beyond 8,500 tons per month; 2014 polycrystalline output is expected to be more than 100,000 tons, compared with that of 2013, the growing rate will be more than 20%.
