Non-ferrous Metal Industry Operation Analysis in the First Three Quarters

In the first three quarters of this year, there are ten kinds of non-ferrous metals whose output are about 38.64 million tons, increasing by 0.9% from a year earlier, but the growth rate had 8.1% decline on year-on-year basis.

Among them, electrolytic aluminum was about 23.44 million tons, with 1.4% decline; Copper about 6.22 million tons, with 8.4% growth, increasing by 1.1% on year-on-year basis; Lead about 3.19 million tons, with 6.6% growth; Zinc about 4.62 million tons, with 0.1% decline. And the alumina production was 44.09 million tons, with 0.4% growth, and 11% decline in the growth rate.

Compared with last month, the copper price was decreased, but the prices of aluminum, lead, zinc all recovered. In September, the copper futures average price was 36726 yuan/ton in Shanghai Futures Exchange, which fell 3.2% from last month, with 6.4% decline on year-on-year basis; The average prices of electrolytic aluminum, lead and zinc are respectively 12537 yuan/ton, 13785 yuan/ton and 17689 yuan/ton, increasing by 0.5%, 2% and 3.3% respectively from a month earlier, and with 5.5%, 2.7% and 20.1% growth on year-over-year basis.
