In order to improve the performance of grinding wheel, many studies adopt isostatic pressing sintering technology, vacuum hot pressing sintering technology, prealloying of metal bond, surface plating of diamond, orderly arrangement of abrasives and other new technology, to make the cost performance of metal bond diamond grinding wheel get more optimization.

However, the traditional metal bond diamond grinding wheel is dense type, which has poor self-sharpening, and is easy to jam. Based on previous studies, we can learn that the pore-forming agent can improve the performance of grinding wheel, but the soluble salts material as pore-forming agent absorbs water easily and affects grinding wheel quality. Therefore, how to choose more suitable pore-forming agent to make grinding wheel with good sharpness, in order to improve the working efficiency, is an important research direction.

Researchers use normal hot pressing sintering method to make metal bond matrix sample and diamond grinding wheel, form pores in the structure by means of adding hollow ceramic ball, and discuss the shape, grit size, additive amount of matrix sample and the influence of grinding wheel of hollow ceramic ball, , expecting to develop low cost, high quality, high efficiency metal bond diamond grinding wheel.
