Existing Problems in the Development of China Coated Abrasives

Although many coated abrasives manufacturers express that China coated abrasives have developed rapidly, and have made great progress, but there are still many problems in the industry, which mainly include:

A. Unreasonable industrial structure, excess low-end products, serious homogeneity, price competition and low profits. High-end products still rely on imports, and China imports coated abrasive products about $250 million in 2014. And low-end products make price concessions, especially products industry. For example, flap disc could be sold at 1.5 yuan/piece in the past, but now it can only be sold about 1 yuan, only making a few cents.

No profit - no good service - no good research and development - no core competitiveness - it will be harder.

Our enterprises must go differentiated road, and choose standard products according to their own situation. It must be different from other people's road, and then we can have a way out.

B. Good product quality still can not solve the problem of poor stability.

The first measurement of good product is stable quality. There are lots of quality problems in the industry, and the key is how we treat these problems and how to solve them finally.

C. There are weak independent innovation ability, little R&D spending, and larger difference between our high-end products with foreign similar products. Where is the difference- billions of imports every year.

D. There is a big problem on environmental protection.

30 years of extensive growth is at the expense of resources and damaging the environment and ecology. If the air, water and food are not safe, there will be no happiness for people.

The pollution is still serious in the industry, and there is still a big problem on "three wastes" (waste water, waste gas, waste material) treatment. In many factories, some harmful gases (formaldehyde, dust) are pungent and spicy, and not effectively controlled. They really have great influence on the surrounding environment and residents. Some companies of them receive complaints, and some of them have to stop the production.
