Domestic Bauxite and Alumina Market Remains Stable in January

In early January, the domestic alumina market run smoothly. Currently, the market prices of industrial alumina in Shandong are around 3050-3150 Yuan/ton, and calcined alpha alumina (Al2O3≥99%, 325 mesh and the conversion rate≥95%), are around 4000-4200 Yuan/ton. 

In Yangquan, the bauxite prices remain unchanged since the end of last month. The ex-factory price of iron shaft kiln bauxite is around 1200-1300 Yuan/ton, 85 down-draft kiln bauxite around 1350-1500 Yuan/ton, 88 down-draft kiln bauxite around 1550-1700 Yuan/ton. Production enterprises should be rational to face the current market, and the alumina price adjustment should be based on the market demand as a whole and the average market prices. At the same time, manufacturers should make efforts in terms of cost control, to make their own products with more advantages in price or quality.

At present, the operating rate of industrial alumina and calcined alpha alumina is higher, and the market supply and demand is smooth. It is learned most of enterprises have been in the state of zero inventory.
