Difference Between Machine Grinding and Manual Grinding

In the machining process of lobular red sandalwood, the grinding methods usually include two kinds: One is machine grinding, and the other is manual grinding.

The grinding by machine mostly needs to use grinding table. After rough machining, a collection of beads should be put into this grinding table and then cover with a lid. Then operators can start the machine for high-speed rotating to make the beads get rolling friction in the grinding table, which can achieve the goal of batch grinding and polishing quickly. Manual grinding needs people to grind one by one individually. Firstly, please put beads onto a shaft and then use sandpaper whose mesh number should be from low to high and cotton cloth for grinding and polishing. It is an manual grinding and polishing, so the processing speed is slow, and the manual cost is also higher.

The grinding and polishing by machine can get fast speed and low cost, which also save time and effort, and realize batch grinding. But the disadvantage is also very obvious. There is no guarantee that each bead in grinding table can get fully, uniform and fine grinding in rotary movement. Therefore, these beads will be relatively coarse or dark, without luster. And in the process, there will be very intense knock between beads, and beads and grinding table, which is prone to cause defects. And it may be more vulnerable to crack in the future.

Manual grinding can not compare with machine grinding on efficiency, but the polishing effect is a lot better than machine. It will can be fully polished and carefully, reaching any designated position. The whole effect is very smooth and shiny. Finally, when using cotton cloth for polishing, the heat produced in high speed friction between beads and cotton cloth can bring out the oiliness, form more oily surface effect, and also is better in the future.
