Diamond grinding wheels have a high grinding efficiency and consumes relatively slow. They are good for improvement in workpieces' surface roughness and are mainly used in fine grinding, cutting, and polishing. Diamond grinding wheels have a good self-sharpening performance and generate little heat.

Resin bonded diamond grinding wheels are low-temperature cure and have a short production cycle. The fluidity of resin is likely to deduce complicated surface grinding wheels. There are various types of grinding wheels, such as straight grinding wheels, wheels recessed two sides,  wheel tapered both sides, and flaring cup wheels.

In diamond industry, good diamond ultrathin cutting discs are considered to be most frequently used in cutting workpieces. Some of them are up to international standards, while gaps still exist in terms of inflexibility, toughness, mechanical strength, and lifespan of diamond ultrathin cutting discs. A great number of resin diamond cutting discs cannot be used any longer due to deformation.

Small-sized diamond ultrathin cutting discs are required to be sharp and durable, however, many saw blades cannot meet the demand. Currently, there are three types of diamond ultrathin cutting discs existing in the market. The first type is resin diamond ultrathin cutting disc which uses resin as bonding agent that bond diamond together. Generally, the lifespan of this type is short, and the sharpness is not favorable. The second type is electroplated diamond ultrathin cutting disc. A layer of corundum is electroplated around metal to remedy deficiency of resin types. However, this type doesn't have a long lifespan. The third type is metal diamond ultrathin cutting disc which adopts calcined mixed metal powder, but its thickness can only be made over 0.3mm. with the development of science and technology, electroplated diamond ultrathin cutting disc is born as a new breakthrough - cutting tools for precision electronics.
