Analysis on Current Situation of Refractory Materials in Henan Province

According to statistics, there are more than 1,100 refractory material manufacturers and refractory product manufacturers in Henan Province. 250,000 people get involved in the refractory material industry. There are numerous excellent refractory material manufacturers in Henan Province, such as Yichuan County Shengyu Fireproof Material Co., Ltd., Henan Yuxin Abrasives Co., Ltd., Qinyang Sanhui Refractory Material Co., Ltd., etc. In 2013, the output of refractory materials and refractory products in Henan Province was about 26,500,000 tons, accounting for 48% of the output of the entire industry in China. As a result, Henan Province has become the biggest manufacturing base of refractory materials. Depending on the technical support of colleges, scientific research institutes, academicians, professors and specialists; companies' R&D platform, the resources peculiar to Henan Province and human resources advantage, especially the industry-university-research cooperation conducted this year has achieved extensive technological innovation results. In the past decade, Henan refractory product structure adjustment has gained dramatically results: a large number of high and new-tech products have been developed and 41 high and new-tech enterprises have been built up.

Alumina-silica refractory material is the dominant product of Henan Province. The alumina-silica raw material current situation is: so far, there are 72 refractory clay mining districts with a stock of 2,677,210,000 tons, among which 16 are high alumina clay mineral districts with a stock of 51,871,000 tons. Among the identified refractory clay resources, high alumina clay stock takes up 19% of the entire stock; soft clay stock accounts for 9% of the entire stock, and hard clay occupies 72% of the entire stock.
