B. On the aspect of B. The bond, especially phenolic resin:

a. The problem of stability of resin quality, especially the free phenol content of resin: High content free phenol, will accelerate resin pyrolysis of resin grinding wheel after heat hardening, which will affect the strength of grinding wheel;

b. The uniformity of resin powder and methenamine: If the methenamine as curing agent of resin, is not enough to add, resin cannot get completely hardening, which will affect the strength and hardness of grinding wheel; If the content is too high, excessive methenamine will not react with resin, and decompose in the process of hardening, which will increase the pores of grinding wheel and reduce its strength and hardness.

c. The granularity of bond is too thick or fine:

It is generally believed that the granularity of the bond should be fine, which helps make the bond uniformly distributed. If the granularity is too coarse, the molding material will be not easy to mix, which will affect grinding wheel hardness and strength. Even for coarser resin wafer cutting wheel and depressed center wheel, the bond (resin powder) should be finer than 320#.

But if the granularity of phenolic resin is too fine, which will bring difficulties for mixtures. It is difficult to achieve the uniformity of mixtures, which then influences the grinding performance of resin grinding wheel.
