It is reported that the technology that European Carbodeon company combined the nano diamond particles synthesized by explosive detonation with the polymer of personal electronic products, LED lighting, automobile and mechanical tools, has gained the United States patent authorization.

It is well known that diamond is the hardest natural minerals in the world, and is also one of the most thermal conductive materials. Therefore, when nano diamond and thermoplastic polymer are mixed in the controlled quantity, they can make the plastic material with predetermined rate thermal conductivity, and has high wear resistance performance.

Nano diamond injected polymer can provide heat conduction for LED lighting products, mobile phones and other mobile devices, and the Internet make it possible to any types of equipments. The wear resistance means that it can also be applied in aviation and automobile industry, in order to ensure a longer product service life under harder wear environment.

Carbodeon company researches and develops the nanometer diamond technology containing thermoplastic composite materials, which has won the United States patent No. 9085723 authorization. As early as in 2012-2013, Carbodeon company found that the thermal conductivity of thermoplastic materials can be significantly enhanced by increasing relatively small batch of nano diamond, and then they submitted an application for the papent. After submitting an application for the technology patent, Carbodeon company continues to their study and develops the commercial application of this technology.

VESA Myllymaki, the chief technology officer of Carbodeon says: "The authorization of the patent shows us an important part of the combination of nanometer diamond composite material products. The patent portfolio coverage of application and authorization will ensure our market position, and our customers cover nano diamond applications, including thermal management application polymer, wear and corrosion resistance nano diamond metal surface polishing, wear resistance or low friction nano diamond fluorocarbon coatings, etc."

Gavin Farmer, a Carbodeon business development manager says: "The latest patent achievements mean that Carbodeon will accelerate the marketing of nano diamond thermoplastic materials used as thermal conductive filler, whose product applications include electronics, electronic packaging, automobiles, aerospace, LED lighting and other mobile devices.
