Another Industrialization Base Settling Down in Henan

Recently, the Ministry of Science and Technology approved establishing state high and new technology industrialization base of superhard materials and products in Shangqiu, which means the total national high-tech base reaches 14 in Henan province.

The construction of national high and new technology industrialization base is one of the key component for the technological innovation to guide project, and also an important carrier to implement the ideas of the Party Central Committee and the State Council on the reform of science and technology system to speed up the construction of national innovation, as well as to give a full play to the role of backbone enterprises and transformed institutes, improve the level of industry key technology and development research, and promote the technical achievements and industrialization.

Shangqiu is an important national production and processing base for  diamond fine powder, covering a group of backbone enterprises with strong innovation ability by introducing a batch of teams with strong scientific research and innovation strength in the area of synthetic diamond, diamond micron powder, diamond products, and others, which has initially formed a industrial cluster characterized by its diamond fine powder and products.

In 2012, its diamond fine powder production accounted for 50% of the whole country, and 46% of exports, its products accounting for 30% of the country, along with the production scale and output ranking among the tops.With the technical level of diamond products improving unceasingly, its leading position in the diamond industry has been enhanced in the whole country, possessing 51 authorized patents and partial technology a leading role in the same line.

The construction of Shangqiu new and high technology industrialization base of superhard materials and products will promote innovation aggregation, speed up the transformation and upgrading of regional industrial structure, promote the technology innovation and industrialization of superhard material industry, and finally accelerate its development towards the international market.
