Sinosteel Takes the Lead to Build the Refractory Material Industry Alliance

Recently, Sinosteel Luoyang Institute of Refractories Research Co., Ltd. has taken the lead to build the National Refractory Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance, which is intended to save 15% in energy on the existing basis by facilitating refractory material industry structural adjustment and development mode transformation.

If Zhengzhou is honored as the "Abrasive City", then probably Luoyang is home to refractory materials. There are numerous superior refractory material companies in Luoyang, one of which is Yichuan County Shengyu Fireproof Material Co., Ltd. which mainly produces brown fused alumina for refractory materials. According to iAbrasive, Sinosteel Luoyang Institute of Refractories Research Co., Ltd. is a subsidiary company of Sinosteel Corporation, a multi-national corporation providing comprehensive supporting services for steel industry. 

Established in 1963, Sinosteel Luoyang is the technical, academic, information, and service center of China's refractory material industry. In 1999, it transformed into a high tech and new tech enterprise, and became the most powerful high tech refractory material enterprise. The National Refractory Industry Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance was co-sponsored by 21 companies, including three scientific research institutes, 14 companies, an association, and three institutions of higher learning. The alliance is aimed at making full use of the resources to form self-dependent industry standards and patented technologies, accelerating the industrial utilization of relevant technologies to drive regional industry upgrades, and improve the overall engineering level of China's refractory material industry.

The member companies will conduct cooperation centered upon the common characteristics in the refractory material industry and industrial key technologies to construct new fireclay insulating refractory with high performance, functional materials for iron and steel smelting, and environmentally-friendly refractory materials base and demonstration project. The alliance seeks to save 15% in energy on the existing basis and live up to the environmentally-friendly purpose of  refractory materials used in China's high temperature industry.
