The average price of 97 silicon carbide 200 mesh powder was 6800 RMB/Ton, with an decrease of 50 RMB/Ton from the beginning of the month. It is learned that although environmental supervision has affected the production of silicon carbide manufacturers, they still maintained the production capacity. In October, the price of water washing coal used in silicon carbide was stable, and this stability ensured the stable operation of the silicon carbide market.

Alumina

According to statistics, the average price of white fused alumina was 5,900 RMB/Ton by the end of October, increasing by 300 RMB/Ton from the beginning of the month. The average price of tabular corundum was 6100 RMB/Ton, with an increase of 400 RMB/Ton. The price increase of white fused alumina and tabular corundum is mainly influenced by the price of industrial aluminum oxide. According to statistics, the price increase of alumina powder was around 150-165 RMB/Ton after the National Day. At the end of October, the alumina was quoted 3780-3795 RMB/Ton in Shandong and Henan, and the actual purchase price of corundum manufacturers was an average of 4000 RMB/Ton.

Environmental protection restricting production policy was gradually carried out at the end of October. The electrolytic aluminum industry as a large consumer of alumina, was limited 30% of the production, which will no doubt affect the alumina market. The alumina price stabilized at the end of the month, but some manufacturers believe that the price of alumina micro powder will continue to rise and is expected to rise to 4200 RMB/Ton.
