High Energy Consuming Industry Downturn Leads to Gansu Sic Insufficient Operation Rate

On 24, July, iAbrasive reporters learned from Industry and Information Committee of Gansu Province that since 2014, due to economic decline, Gansu has witnessed slump electricity demand and electricity industry increasing rate has slowed down. 

In the first half of the year, Gansu province consumed 518.58 hundred million kilowatt-hours, which increased 0.2%. Generated energy is 594.37 hundred million kilowatt-hours, which increased 4.19%. Power delivery is 76.18 hundred million kilowatt-hours, increased 26.35 hundred million kilowatt-hours, increased 53.34%. Thermal power unit average capacity factor is 51.3%. Power operation takes on abundant electricity supply.

Seen from current situation, high energy consuming market is still in its downturn period, the price is low; iron alloy, silicon carbide, calcium carbide enterprises have insufficient operation rate. At the same time, in the third quarter, Power delivery is limited, electricity available reached 96.5 hundred million kilowatt-hours, which make it still harder for thermal power operation. Under the incentives of Gansu municipal government, the situation begins to recover. It is predicted that the rising rate will be more than 9%.
