Diamond Industry Presidents to Meet in Turkey

Presidents of bourses and diamond industry associations from over two dozen countries around the world will meet next month in Turkey, the World Federation of Diamond Bourses said in a press release. Istanbul, Turkey's largest city and one of the largest in the world with a population of 14 million, will host the conference from Sunday, June 16 to Tuesday, June 18.

Members of the International Diamond Manufacturing Association will join representatives of WFDB diamond exchanges from the four corners of the world at the Shangri La Bosphorus Hotel for the talks, which are held every other year in a different location.

A significant portion of Istanbul's $332.4 billion annual GDP can be chalked up to its diamond, gem and jewelry industry.
