Since the 1950s, a zinc plant located at Huludao of Liaoning began to refine black silicon carbide with petroleum coke in 750KVA electric furnace, used to make the reaction kettle of zinc. This was the only company at that time in China that produced black silicon carbide for non-abrasive.

Although the technology is outdated at first, with the market developing, technological innovation and progress both help the application of silicon carbide powder, silicon carbide particles and silicon carbide balls in the market better develop.
