Abrasives Industry is Included in Xinjiang Stone Industry Development Strategy

On July 18, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Economic and Information Technology Committee introduced Xinjiang Stone Industry Development Strategy Plan (hereinafter referred to as Plan). The whole plan includes "one center" and "eight parks", which means that Urumqi headquarter is the center, the main facilities including technical innovation incubator area, such as large professional trade market, exhibition center, railway marshalling yards and logistics warehousing zone, other integrated services areas. 

And the "eight parks" are namely Shanshan, Qitai, Hami, Bole, Heshuo,Yanqi, Tuoli and Qinghe. Those eight parks will form relatively independent stone producing systems, and utilize mineral resources within their administration area. Their goals are deeply developing stone processing industry, and meet their construction needs. At the same time, they plan to develop corresponding logistics industry, abrasives industry, and mechanical maintenance industry to make full use of stone resources. 

What is remarkable is that the plan asks to strengthen the resources exploration in southern Xinjiang regions, especially Kezhou, Aksu, Hetian and Kashgar, and foster new stone processing park based on characteristic resources for the purpose of building southern Xinjiang into a high-grade stone processing base. "Eight park" aims to develop the rare stone in each district of Xinjiang to form large-scale mining.
