There Are Only 7 Electrolytic Aluminium Enterprises in Henan

At present, the production capacity of alumina in Henan is about 12 million tons and aluminum material about 9.8 million tons, and it needs more than 1.5 million tons of aluminum ingots from other provinces so that it can meet the needs of aluminum processing.

Recently, reporters have learned from Nonferrous Metal Industry Association in Henan that since this year, non-ferrous metals industry in Henan has broken away from the downturn situation in recent years, and the economic operation is positive.

It benefits from the large-scale structure adjustment and technical innovation in recent years, and now the industrial chains are becoming more perfect, which profits from enterprises’ gradually increasing development ability and the recovering prices trend of commodity. It is expected that it will still have stronger competitive ability under insufficient demand, excess production capacity and rising cost.

From January to July, there are ten kinds of non-ferrous metals whose output is 3.2014 million tons, increasing by 1.8% on year-on-year basis, which accounts for 10.8% of the total national output. The growth rate is higher about 1.3% than the national average increase.

At the same time, the economic downturn has been contained, and the second quarter is better than the first quarter, and continues to improve. From January to June, there are 864 non-ferrous metals industrial enterprises above designated size that achieve the main business income about 319.81 billion yuan, rising 1.8% from a year earlier. The total profit is 16.17 billion yuan, with an increase of 2.4%.

With speeding up of eliminating the backward and excess capacity, the competitiveness of existing enterprises is rebounding. The number of electrolytic aluminium enterprises is from 21 in 2005 to 7 now in Henan, and the first five enterprises’ output can account for 90% of the whole province.
