Gemfields Company has released Mining Experts Report this week, which firstly unveil the world's largest ruby mine - Mozambique's official data of reserves: The proven reserves of ruby and aluminum oxide is 467 million carats, and the average grade of mining area is 62.3 ct/t, which can be explored for at least 21 years.

Report shows that the proven reserves of 467 million carats in Mozambique mine consists of two parts: the average grade of the main mining area is 115.7 ct/t, and the proven reserves is about 245 million carats, speculated reserves of 44 million carats. The average grade of secondary mining area is 35.7 ct/t, and the proven reserves is 178 million carats.

In addition to the proven reserves, the mining area also has a 432 million-carat possible reserves. It is estimated that the potential mining area of Mozambique mine, may contain the 253 million-carat rubies, with an average grade of 114.9 ct/t; The potential lean ore reserves is about 179 million carats, with an average grade of 7.07 ct/t.

It is reported that Mozambique ruby mine is located in the northeast of Mozambique, covering an area of nearly 33600 hectares.

We should note that as early as in 2009, people found rich reserves of rubies in the north of Mozambique-Montepuez. In 2011, Gemfields became a shareholder of the ruby mine and said it is recoverable for at least 50 years in Montepuez, and the new mining area of Mozambique is estimated that it is explored sustainably for 21 years.
