The Prevailing Prices of White Fused Alumina in February 2017

In February, the prevailing prices of white fused alumina section sand Al2O3≥99% are around 4900-5100 Yuan/ton, and fine powder around 5100-5300 Yuan/ton (the prices including tax) in Henan, with prices unchanged from early last month.

Since last July, Henan had gone through environmental protection investigation and pollution treatment for many times, which made most white fused alumina manufacturers have to stop the production, resulting in a decrease of spot white fused alumina. The prices increase of alumina also raised the prices of white fused alumina all the way. After the Spring Festival, in an interview for white fused alumina companies in Henan, some manufacturers expressed that environmental protection was relatively loose during the Spring Festival, so some of white fused alumina manufacturers resumed the production. Now the shortage situation of spot market is eased, and the prices can also remain stable.

It is learned that Henan Department of Environmental Protection will carry out air quality specific inspection in the first quarter of 2017 for Henan province for a month since February 15. Affected by environmental protection, the operating rate of white fused alumina companies will be reduced further, and the market price will continue to be going up.
