On 29, July, Dalian Special Ceramic Base was official opened. The project is affiliated with Dalian Jinma Boron Technology Group Co., Ltd and the total investment amounts to 300 million. It is the  most complete basis of boron , which is the largest industrial chain in Asia as well.

It is understood that Huayuankou Special Ceramic base covers 80,000 square meters, and mainly undertakes the national "863" projects and other provincial key scientific research projects. The base focuses on the research and producing current international most advanced boron carbide shielding material used in fourth-generation nuclear reactor, control material, safety material, and post-processing materials. What's more, the base also provides advanced fourth vehicles and protective materials, gunships protective material and other body protection material urgently needed in national security and national defense.

The service goal of the base is nuclear, military and civilian orientation. It links the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the General Armament Department, Tsinghua University and other top domestic resources, possesses post-doctoral, academician workstation, and also is the drafting unit of boron carbide, boric acid, borax national standard.

Due to low-cost, anti-oxidation, anti strong acid and super alkali and other properties, special ceramics are gradually replacing metal and plastic, and widely used into aerospace and other frontier fields. Special ceramics can be regarded as new generation of industrial materials. From the perspectives of civilian, the high-end models of BWM have begun apply special ceramics with high strength wear-resistant into manufacturing brake pads.

It has learned that the hardness of special ceramic is second only to diamond, and its service life is 10 times long as that of steel.

At present, our special ceramics market demand is growing at annual rate of 20%.
