The Import of Aluminum and Alumina Surged in a Sudden in China

In April, the import amount of aluminum products surged suddenly, and reached 35199 tons, which indicated that some investors stepped into the industry. 

According to the latest customs data, comparing with the same period in last year, the import amount increased 150.9%. "Restrained by the high premium, the transportation volume will surpass the expected amount", one trader said. Comparing with March, the import amount has deceased 14.7%, but is still over the anticipation. In the past months, the premium of aluminum ingot has maintained at $370/ ton, which results in a great loss in Chinese importers.
