Synthetic Diamond Can Be Used to Detect Cancer Cells

Researchers in Australia have used synthetic diamond to successfully identify cancer cells, which may play a key role in the detection of early cancer.

A broadcasting corporation in Australia reported that researchers in University of Sydney found that if they magnetize synthetic diamond synthesized by nanotechnology, the diamond that itself does not shine will shine in the nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) detection.

The diamond will attach on the chemicals after magnetization that detect cancer cells and is injected into the body. If the cancer cells are found in the body, diamond will shine in the nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) detection.

Researchers think that the benefits of this technology are without any operation and can accurately detect cancer cells. They hope to detect pancreatic cancer and other difficult to be detected cancer in the early stage.

This research leader Eva Ray says that the cost of synthetic diamond is relatively cheap. The detection technology is expected to enter the stage of clinical trials in a few years later.

Cancer Council Australia says that any solution to early detecting cancer cells is popular, which means it will treat cancers effectively.
