Safety Operation Procedures of Ceramic Sand Blasting

Nowadays, The application of metal sand blasting process in metal and aluminum often appears in our daily life, especially the application of the 3C electronic products-mobile phone. So, what is sand blasting process? Many sand blasting machine suppliers will tell you about this. Sand blasting process uses the compressed air as the power to form a high-speed injection beam, and then deal with the surface of workpieces with the spraying materials, which will make the surface of workpieces changed. Because of the abrasive impact and the cutting effect to the workpiece surface, the sand blasting process will make the workpiece surface obtain a certain cleanness and different roughness, which can improve the mechanical properties of the workpiece surface.

Metal sand blasting process materials are mainly divided into ceramic sand, glass sand, iron sand, nylon sand and other abrasives, so what are safety operation procedures of ceramic sand blasting?

Safety operation procedures of ceramic sand blasting are as follows:

A. Operators must wear protective equipments before working. Don’t allow to be naked arm when working. It shall not be less than two people when working.

B. It is necessary to check whether ventilation pipe and sand blasting machine door have been sealed. Five minutes before starting work, it must start the ventilation and dust removal equipments. If ventilation and dust removal equipments fail, sand blasting process will be prohibited.

C. It needs to check gas tank, pressure gauge, safety valve on a regular basis. Gas tank needs a dust emissions every two weeks, and the filter in the sand tank needs to be checked once a month.

D. The granularity of spray sand should be adapted to the job requirement, which is generally applicable between No.10 to No.20. And the sand should be kept dry.

E. The compressed air valve should be slowly opened, whose air pressure must be no more than 0.8 MPa.

F. When sand blasting machine is working, the irrelevant personnel are prohibited near. The machine should be shut down when operators need to clean and adjust the running parts.

G. It is not allowed to use compressed air to blow the dust on the body or just make a joke.

H. If the personal and equipment accidents happen, people should maintain the scene and report to relevant departments.

I. After working, the ventilation and dust removal equipment should be kept to carry on for five minutes and then shut down, in order to discharge indoor dust and keep the site clean.
