During 117th Canton Fair, photovoltaic exhibitors revealed that China's photovoltaic industry has been on the growth in recent years and is expected to maintain the stable trend in 2015.

According to statistics, China's photovoltaic manufacturers created a total export value of $16,200,000,000, setting up a world record. In the first two months this year, Jiangsu imported 3277 tons of polycrystalline, which is 1.2 times of the same period last year.

Analysts say that the reasons of photovoltaic industry's growth are three-folds. Firstly, China's photovoltaic market is in full swing. With large-scale foundation of big power station in the past few years, and promotion of power grid, the entire photovoltaic market has been driven by substantial demand. As the biggest market of PV modules, China is witnessing an ever-increasing industrial growth. Secondly, there is an substantial increase in emerging markets in Asia-Pacific and the Middle-East photovoltaic markets. Currently, Australia, Thailand, and India's demand accounts for 20% of the global demand. Thirdly, market expansion is also related with progress in science and technology, reduced costs, and decreased price.

Application

Photovoltaics (PV) is the name of a method of converting solar energy into direct current electricity using semiconducting materials that exhibit the photovoltaic effect.

Many solar photovoltaic power stations have been built, mainly in Europe. Photovoltaic arrays are often associated with buildings: either integrated into them, mounted on them or mounted nearby on the ground. PV has traditionally been used for electric power in space. PV is rarely used to provide motive power in transport applications, but is being used increasingly to provide auxiliary power in boats and cars. Developing countries where many villages are often more than five kilometers away from grid power are increasingly using photovoltaics. Solar PV power is ideally suited for telecommunication applications such as local telephone exchange, radio and TV broadcasting, microwave and other forms of electronic communication links. Spacecraft operating in the inner solar system usually rely on the use of solar panels to derive electricity from sunlight.
