Production Recovery of Aluminium Enterprises Makes Alumina Production Increased in September

According to survey data, we can learn that domestic alumina production was 4.943 million tons in September, with 4.79% year-on-year growth, and 0.66% decline from a month earlier. But the average daily output rose 2.65% from August, which is mainly influenced by the unexpected shutdown and gradual resumption of two alumina enterprises in August.

In October, alumina production is expected to reach 5.299 million tons, with 7.83% of year-on-year growth, and the average daily production is rising sharply than in September, not only because the above two enterprises continue to recover and increase the production, and it is also driven by rising alumina prices. Alumina enterprises including Chalco in Shandong. Lubei Chemical also recovers the production, and Chinalco in Shanxi has also recovered the production recently. It is expected to significantly increase the production in October.

In September, domestic electrolytic aluminum production was increased to 2.705 million tons, with 6.5% rise over the previous year. The new annual output is about 744000 tons to 32.911 million tons, including Shandong Weiqiao, Shandong Xinfa and other new production release, and in the same period, Gansu Liancheng, Shanxi Zhaofeng and other aluminum enterprises recover the production further, which drives the overall yield improvement.

According to the current domestic electrolytic aluminum production growth, domestic electrolytic aluminum production still has 300000 tons of room to improve in October. It is expected that it will reach 2.811 million tons.
