Two diamond projects in the northern Canadian indigenous territory of Nunavut have been acquired by a Canadian diamond company, North Arrow, Diamond Intelligence reports. The firm outright purchased the two concessions called Mel and Luxx, adding to its stable of Canadian diamond projects which also includes the Qilalugaq site, also in Nunavut, the Redemption site in the Northwest Territories, the Pikoo site in Saskatchewan and the Timiskaming site in Ontario.

The Mel project constitutes approximately 183,000 acres in Nunavut's Melville Peninsula, in 10 kilometers of tidewater. Two mineral trains found there contain pyrope and eclogitic garnets and ilmenite. The Luxx project constitutes about 100,000 acres in the Chesterfield Inlet, also in tidewater. It has at least one mineral train, although it may have up to three, which contain garnets and ilmenites.

In both cases, North Arrow will conduct airborne magnetic surveys of the sites, followed by till samples, to appraise the projects, according to Diamond Intelligence.
