New Corrosion Resistant Silicon Carbide Composite is Available

At present, energy conservation and emissions reduction in China is quite serious, and thermal power enterprises are the main sources of industrial sulfur dioxide flue gas and one of the main culprits of fog and haze in China. Currently, the desulfurization pipes of power enterprises in our country are mostly traditional rubber lining and lining porcelain desulfurization pipeline. Because of corrosion, wear and fracture, and other reasons, the losses caused by that have been far more than ten billion yuan each year, and the pipeline damage can not be unpredictable, so it often causes the downtime of the desulfurization system, which greatly affects the efficiency and effectiveness of the whole power system.

In order to solve the problems which restrict the development of the environment, a team of scientists in China have successfully developed "gradient silicon carbide porous ceramics/resin corrosion resistant composite pipe fittings" which is an international initiative process, and friendly to the environment, and has fully independent intellectual property rights on the basis of original technology of high performance silicon carbide porous ceramic, and 5 years of applied research.

It is said that the new type corrosion resistant composite pipe has been used successfully in hundreds of power plants owned by five famous power companies. It has been viewed as the replacement of the energy conservation and emissions reduction of power generation enterprises, and has a broad market prospect and good development space.

By 2020, our country will fully implement energy saving renovation of coal-fired power plants, and coal-fired power generating units must install desulfurization and denitration, dust removal environmental protection facilities in accordance with the relevant provisions, which greatly reduces pollution emissions.
