India’s Micromatic Grinding Technologies has appointed grinding abrasives and tool services expert Master Abrasives as its sole UK representative for its range of hydraulic and CNC cylindrical OD, ID and Centreless grinding machines, effective 1 September 2016.

The UK firm offers Master-branded precision products, including conventional grinding wheels, diamond dressers and superabrasive products and the addition of the Micromatic range allows Master to offer a complete precision package.

Micromatic Grinding Technologies was established in 1973, boasts four plants in India and is part of the AceMicromatic Group, the largest machine tool manufacturing group in India. Micromatic Grinding Technologies worked Japan’s JTKET Corporation, which boasts Toyoda as a member company, to develop a small cam lobe grinding machine; it has worked with Italy’s Lizzini Spa on an internal grinder, as well as with TGS of the USA on centerless grinders. And through its joint venture with JEKT, Toyoda Micromatic Machinery India Ltd, the company supports sales and service of Toyoda machines in India.

Explains Master Abrasives’ managing director, Paul Batson: “Our aim is to provide solutions for every aspect of the grinding process, whether it’s the grinding wheel, dresser, coolant delivery system, or now the grinding machine. Being appointed the UK representative for Micromatic grinding machine tools allows us to offer a one-stop, complete solution. Micromatic is a professional company with over 40 years' experience that has similar positive work ethics and approach to customers as us. I believe we are an excellent fit and by working closely together our customers will see the benefits. We plan to install a machine at our facility in Daventry later this year to be able to demonstrate the cost-effectiveness of buying a Micromatic machine.”

Micromatic Grinding Technologies’ managing director, Kapil Dhand, Adds: “Selling precision grinding machines requires a deep understanding of not only the machine tool but the application itself. We are excited to have found a suitable partner in Master Abrasives who understands the application aspect very well, being sellers of abrasive products for nearly 50 years in the UK market. I am sure that this partnership will add immense value for customers by providing competitive and optimised turnkey solutions for their grinding process needs.”
