Market Analysis of White Fused Alumina in April

In April, the prevailing price of white fused alumina Al2O3≥99% section sand is 4300-4500 RMB/ton in Shandong, and the prevailing price of fine powder is about 4600-4700 RMB/ton, whose price remains flat from the preceding month.

Alumina prices are rising, which plays a supporting role for white fused alumina prices. It is expected that white fused alumina prices won't have the possibility of a downgrade in the short term.

Through this survey, most of white corundum production enterprises in Shandong give priority to supply old customers, and are more cautious to develop new customers because of payment and other problems. From the current month shipments, we can learn that most of enterprises maintain the shipments under 1000 tons, and only individual enterprises can reach above 1000 tons.

At present, the capacity utilization of white fused alumina production enterprises is low in Henan. We random select 12 white fused alumina production enterprises for conducting this survey. Among these production enterprises, there is one enterprise that has the largest output about 8000 tons/month, one enterprise about 3000 tons/month, one enterprise about 2000 tons/month, and most of the rest of enterprises only have hundreds of tons to one thousand tons/month. The monthly output of individual enterprises is only about dozens of tons.

This is a common phenomenon that enterprises make the production according the orders. Due to the limited market demand, enterprises’ production is low. If the raw materials alumina prices continue to rise, white fused alumina enterprises may improve the ex-factory price.
