The existing purchasers have decreased the purchasing amount; new purchasers are difficult to establish a stable business relationship with, which has led to the overstock of more than 1000 tons for most white fused alumina manufacturers in China. The measures that should be taken are to expand foreign trade and develop high-end products as well as hardware tools application in product additives.

According to relevant information, currently, in Shandong Province, the price of Australia import aluminum oxide powder is basically 3,150 Yuan to 3,200 Yuan per ton, slightly higher than China's domestic price. But the import goods are more outstanding in terms of both physical index and chemical index. What's more, the content of Al₂O₃ is higher that import aluminum oxide has become popular among down stream purchasers.

According to China Custom's statistic, white fused alumina products export have been on the rise in 2014. The total export volume from January to August was 1252,000,000 tons, which is an increase of 28.2% on year-on-year basis. For China's white fused alumina manufacturers, increasing export under the overcapacity situation might be an effective way to consume stock.

The situation of brown fused alumina in Henan Province was different. Brown fused alumina dumping furnace section sand mainstream quoted price with tax was 4,250 Yuan to 4,450 Yuan per ton. Fixed furnace section sand mainstream quoted price with tax was 4,100 Yuan to 4,300 Yuan per ton. Seen from the statistics in the past few years, fixed furnace brown fused alumina has witnessed a decline in refractory materials application field. At present, the price of brown fused alumina dumping furnace section sand is approximate to that of fixed furnace, whose price advantage has become less obvious. A majority of downstream purchasers have attached more attention to dumping furnace brown fused alumina, and the demand for fixed furnace brown fused alumina is shrinking.

Currently, about 80% brown fused alumina manufacturers adopt dumping furnace for production. Fixed furnaces have been sold mainly to the abrasives industry. Many brown fused alumina manufacturers reveal that it is difficult to get returned money. Shortage of funds has made them unable to improve equipment, the production efficiency is low, and the product range is limited. Some companies began to produce bauxite fused alumina, whose price is around 3,000 Yuann per ton and can replace part of brown fused alumina.
