Japan's Technology of Attaching Micro Diamond Particles to Tools

Recently, Tokyo Diamond Tools Manufacturing, Japan has developed a new technology to attach micro diamond particles to tools, i.e. a diamond grinding tool with 10-micron particles attached to advanced opening part and several micron particles attached to finishing part.

The new technology adopted a method that can fix diamond on metal surface by electroplate craft. The attachable particles’ diameter on new products is four times as many as existing products, which makes high precision process possible. Compared with grinding disc that uses resin and metal as bonded material, the new technology cuts cost to half. Previously, only one diamond layer was available, now multi-layer diamond will maintain a longer working life.

An integrated product can be used for hard-brittle materials processing like glass perfectly, and it can save changing process. The diamond micron particles with new technology will be put on sale soon.--iAbrasive report
