White Pine Diamonds, which deals in recycled diamonds, will be holding its first recycled diamond sales event in Mumbai later this month. The sale in India marks an expansion of the firm’s international activities.

The August 12-14 sale event will feature approximately 40,000 carats of recycled melee, breakout and single stones, both certified and non-certified, in all shapes, sizes and qualities.

Trading recycled diamonds in the world's largest diamond center is significant, as some of the industry's detractors claim that there is no secondary market for the precious gems.

"India is one of the largest and most important diamond markets in the world,” said White Pine Trading Director of Sales Myles Schakler. “In selecting Mumbai for this event, we are reaching an even larger segment of the diamond industry that would otherwise be unable to attend our regularly scheduled events in the United States and Hong Kong.

The sales event will be held in the SEEPZ Gems & Jewelry Complex-II. White Pine representatives will be in Mumbai from August 7 to meet with clients and facilitate trade in advance of the event.

The company buys recycled, polished diamonds of all sizes and grades, either loose or in second-hand diamond jewelry, from the smallest melee to diamonds one carat and above. It remanufactures chipped, damaged and poorly cut diamonds to improve them.
