Furniture Burnishing-The Importance of Sandpaper in Burnishing

In modern woodiness furniture factories, there are a lot of woodworking. For example, drilling and shavings have been replaced by machines, but the burnishing process still needs to be done by hand. Different parts and processes need to use different burnishing tools, and workers will burnish furniture parts with different burnishing tools, so we can see the importance of sandpaper in burnishing.

The beautiful furniture surface depends largely on burnishing quality. As we all know, whether it's real wood or board type furniture enterprise, the focus of the workload and workers is the burnishing workshop, and most of problems may happen in burnishing workshop. Due to the particularity of the material itself and differences, as well as the shape of processed parts and the difference of modelling, plus the limited processing capability and cost considerations of sanding equipments, there is no way to completely replace manual burnishing.

Sandpaper plays an important role in burnishing. In manual burnishing, sandpaper needs to be cut from  the whole piece into four pieces, and workers need to use their thumb and little finger clamp both ends after each folded. In addition, the sandpaper needs to burnish the workpieces back and forth on the object surface. According to the object of burnishing, workers can change at any time.

In large area of burnishing, workers need to master the principle that the higher the better and turn the sandpaper by using the palm. Sanding operators also need to notice their fingers to avoid them hurt in the operation.

How to select suitable sandpaper? A. Select the most appropriate sandpaper: Generally speaking, sandpaper needs to be coarser for the first time and in the second time, sandpaper needs to be fine; B. It should be along with the wood texture direction for burnishing; C. It should be performed after the film drying, and needs to remove dust and paint powder; D. It needs to check or replace sandpaper after a period of time; E. It is necessary to adjust the paint viscosity and the film coating thickness, and make sure it will be enough to cover sanding marks.
