The concentration of abrasive grains shows the volume of abrasive grains in abrasive products. If the concentration is high, it turned out that abrasive grains have large volume in abrasives products with the same volume, and when grinding, there are more abrasive grains involved in grinding per unit time.

According to the relationship of the three elements of abrasives products: If the concentration is too high, the dose of bond will be reduced and can not hold diamond or CBN firmly, which will cause some abrasive grains early falling off. They cannot give full play to the role of each grain, causing faster wear and high cost; If the concentration is too low, there will be less abrasive grains involved in grinding. We should choose appropriate concentration according to the requirements of grinding, and then according to the concentration, we can choose suitable dosage of binder.

Abrasive particle size can decide the surface roughness and grinding efficiency of machined surface. If the roughness value is low, we can use fine-grained abrasive grains; If it requires high grinding efficiency, we can use coarse-grained abrasive grains. The finer abrasive grains, the more dosage of binder.

In abrasives products with the same concentration, with the increase of dosage of binder, the hardness of abrasives products is increased. But if the dosage of binder is too much, it may not increase the hardness of abrasives products, and bring more difficulties to mixed materials and forming. We commonly increase the hardness of abrasives products through adding filler instead of increasing bond. In addition, we also can increase the forming pressure to increase the density of abrasives products.
