China's White Fused Alumina to Hit 800,000 Tons in 2014

In 2014, Henan Province produced 500,000 tons of white fused alumina, and the other parts of China produced a total of 300,000 tons. According to yield analysis, the demand for white fused alumina market is quite considerable.

Based on market investigation, domestic calcined alumina factory price with tax is 4,800 Yuan per ton, equal to the price of white fused alumina. In the coming months, it is predicted that calcined alumina is likely to replace white fused alumina. On the one hand, white fused alumina belongs to high energy-consuming industry, which is restricted by government policies; on the other hand, calcined alumina belongs to technological products, which is encouraged by government policies. What's more, calcined alumina has an increasingly obvious advantage in price.

Currently, major downstream industries of refractory materials belong to overcapacity industries. With the declining demand for refractory materials used for infrastructure construction, consumption for refractory materials shrink. The demand for refractory materials is expected to decrease to 24,000,000 tons or so. In this way, demand for white fused alumina will shrink accordingly.
