China's First Overseas Alumina Production Line Was Completed

On the morning of May 21, Hongfa WeiLi Alumina Company located in West Kalimantan of Indonesia, held the progect’s completion ceremony of first phase for 1 million tons of alumina production line.

According to introduction, Hongfa WeiLi Alumina Company was registered in March 2012, whose headquarter is located in Jakarta, Indonesia. According to the company development plan and after comprehensive evaluation, West Kalimantan was selected as a production base. The production base covers an area of about 1500 hectares, and gets the Indonesian and China government’s attention.

Chinese president Xi Jinping visited to Indonesia on October 3, 2013, and was invited to participate in "China - Indonesia business luncheon," as an important cooperation project representative. They witnessed that the chief executive of China Hongqiao Group signed a contract with cooperative partner. On November 10, 2014, the project was rated as one of the three major projects that China and Indonesia led for economic cooperation and exchange at APEC Leadership Summit.

Hongfa WeiLi Alumina Company production line is China's first overseas alumina production line that has been built and put into production, which is also the first alumina plant in Indonesia. Its completion and putting into operation once again saw the speed of China, Chinese wisdom and the spirit "Weiqiao Entrepreneurship".
